Together with other bricks of the same kind, the brick in question formed the bottom of a channel, the walls of which were made of reused rooftiles. The channel was traced in a trench ... sectioning the street on the south side of the hospital [Fig. 1] and was assigned to the fourth usage level of the street, dated by coins of Constantine II and Licinius II to the first half of the 4th century AD. By this period the hospital had been out of use and abandoned for quite some time.
