Beklemeto Pass, also known as Troyan Pass (Bulgarian: Троянски проход), is a mountain pass in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) in Bulgaria. It connects Troyan and Karnare on the Karlovo Plain.... The pass is on one of the main roads connecting northern and southern Bulgaria. This was the Roman Via Trayana (Trajan road), and some of the Roman remains can still be seen. North of the pass was the fortress of Ad Radices,[citation needed] south of it was Sub Radices,[citation needed] and at the pass was the crest station of Montemno (Monte Haemo), the foundation of which is still visible.

The name of the Ad Radices Station (At the foot of the mountain) corresponds with the place, where it is located – the Popina Laka place, near to the Kamen most quarter. Felix Kanits was the first to mention the ancient ruins in the region in the 19 century. No archaeological excavation work has been performed at the site. Today the terrain is arable but on the surface there still can be found fragments from building materials, ceramics and coins. It is believed that the main building of the station was located under the old sanatorium Shamaka.
Ad Radices is a successful example for succession of a roadside settlement from the end of the I century BC into a Roman roadside station, which served the trade traffic towards mountain peak Chuchul, the valley of the Beli Osam River to the west and the main permanent way of the Roman road heading for Philipopolis. [bulgarisch: Името на станцията Ad Radice (При полите на планината) съответства на мястото, където се намира – местността Попина лъка в близост до махала Камен мост. За античните руини в района пръв споменава Феликс Каниц през 19 век. Археологически в проучвания не са провеждани.
Днес терена е обработваем, но на повърхността се откриват останки от битова и строителна керамика и монети. Вероятно основните постройки на станцията са се намирали под стария санаториум Шамака.]
